The VolunTeen Scholarship Program was created many years ago by a DPCCF Board member. They were passionate about helping the Care Center and wanted to encourage the community youth to experience the mission of the Care Center. The Foundation set out to establish the VolunTeen Scholarship Program.

In addition to developing caring relationships with our Care Center residents, volunteering at the Care Center sets youth up to become leaders for the rest of their lives. Working with staff and residents in a variety of settings helps develop leadership traits such as confidence, commitment, passion, good communication, decision making capabilities and accountability.

The process for the VolunTeen Scholarship is simple:

1. High school students need to volunteer for 50 hours. Students may volunteer as soon as they begin high school.

2. Upon completion of 50 hours, an application for a DCCF scholarship can be filled out and turned in to Volunteer Coordinator.

3. Successfully completed applications are submitted to the Foundation for the selection of award recipients.

For more information and application requirements contact the Volunteer Services Office at 630.784.4260. Completed applications must be received no later than March 20th of the current school year. The names of the scholarship recipients will be announced in April.
