Scholarship opportunities are open to current high school seniors who log at least 50 volunteer hours in the VolunTeen Program at the DuPage Care Center, and follow the guidelines of the VolunTeen Contract. All applicants must submit official transcripts with proof of grade point average, lists of academic and extra-curricular accomplishments, and volunteer positions held outside of DPCC. Applicants will need to submit answers to six questions listed on the last page of the application.

The Donna Ekstrom Scholarship

Donna Ekstrom was a wife and mother who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in 1984. She bravely battled the disease for over 10 years and resided at the DuPage Convalescent Center until she passed away. This scholarship was established to memorialize Donna’s battle with MS and in recognition of the care she received while at the Center. DuPage Care Center and DuPage Convalescent Care Foundation.

The Dillon DeBoer Scholarship

In Honor of Dillon Deboer, who is the grandson of Donna Ekstrom. Dillon is 15 years old and has special needs.

Information and applications are available in the Volunteer Services Office at the DuPage Care Center. All completed applications must be received no later than March 1st of the current school year. The names of the scholarship recipients will be announced by the end of April.
